CABIN ZERO IN AREAL, BRAZIL
ARCHITECTURE BY GÁVEA ARQUITETOS

Cabin Zero is the prototype for 11 retreats currently under construction for an alternative therapy center in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro. These cabins were designed with the forest in mind, so that they might eventually revert to forest one day. The structure repurposes material from an old wooden warehouse, and the walls are constructed from treated pine. They lack electricity and hot water and feature a dry toilet system.
